A full-time bogie-drive 6X6 with coilspring loadshare suspension for more level load platform and a high level of occupant comfort, using either live axles or fully independent type axles, with around 450mm or 18” of rear wheel articulation
Potential to fit fully sealed disc brakes, or normal disc brakes according to operating conditions encountered and full time bogie drive for traction integrity at all times.
The heavy duty viscous coupling used as the power divider in the bogie-drive is carried in a two piece shaft mounting to the drive axles via two heavy duty automotive type constant velocity joints incorporating 15/16” ball bearings and integral axial slip of 40mm to accommodate the extreme axle articulation of 450mm or18” plus.
The 6X6 vehicles we are building, are capable of carrying their own weight on made roads and around 2/3rds of this weight off-road, with a capability of climbing 30 degree inclines plus off-road.
The coil-spring loadshare suspension allows the bogie wheels to articulate at least 18” and at full articulation of any bogie wheel the load platform deflects only around 4”-5” thus keeping the vehicle much more level than is possible with any other type of suspension and thereby making the vehicle much safer and user friendly, allowing the transport of delicate equipment and passengers safely over terrain which would normally at least cause discomfort and at worst severe damage to both vehicle and occupants, all this with far less chassis strain than our competitors.
We have driven our Nissan Coil-spring vehicle at over 160km/hr on road in bare cab -chassis form and fully laden with almost no difference in roadholding and handling. These veicles display similar ride and roadholding characteristics to good late model luxury saloon cars on- road whilst having outstanding off-road performance, in short our loadshare coilspring suspension vehicles are simply the most incredible improvement to hit the off-road scene for a long time, while still maintaining excellent road manners.FOR FULL DETAILS .
