Full Load-sharing suspension (with ‘Roll-steer’)
Initially invented in 1996, 6×6 Australia’s current product came about when Bob and his son Steve were working on a solution at the time for the then brand-new GQ Nissan Patrol with it’s advanced new all-round coil-spring suspension system.
Our customer at the time wanted a 6-wheel drive he could use in his Aluminium Trade supplies business (Brisbane), able to carry & deliver long lengths of steel and bulk plate to regional/remote construction sites outside the city, then double as his weekend off-roader, to carry a slide on camper body to places like Big Red and The Simpson Desert. So he Safari Turboed his new GQ Nissan Patrol ute (w/intercooler and 3″ exhaust), brought it to us with his demands (including a cabin extension to become a King-cab w/driver’s side ‘suicide’ door) and the 6×6 Australia roll-steer/load-share/coil-spring bogie suspension was born! This GQ Patrol can also be seen in the gallery page. It evolved in the two decades since then into the finest solution available in this context on the planet. Compared to our competition, it’s also the most affordable and economical as it makes our competitor’s technology appear outdated..
